Proposed Amendment to Regulations (CAR) and Technical Standards (CATS)
The Minister of Transport intends, in terms of section 155(1) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2009 (Act No. 13 of 2009) and on the recommendation of the Civil Aviation Regulations Committee (CARCom), to amend the Civil Aviation Regulations 2011, by the amendment of the following Parts:

|Schedule 4||Part 55 (NTCA Maintenance Facility)|
|Schedule 5||Part 56 (Technical Approved Person)|
|Schedule 11||Part 187 (Fees Relating to Parts 55 & 56)|
The Director of Civil Aviation intends, in terms of section 163 of the Civil Aviation Act and on the recommendation of CARCom, to amend the Technical Standards by the amendment of the following parts set out in the Schedules below:

|Schedule 14||SA CATS 56 (Technical Approved Person)|
RAASA is a member of the Civil Aviation Regulation Committee which includes various sub-committees. This proposals is a subject of these sub-committees as RAASA relies on consultative processes in executing its functions.
Interested persons are hereby invited to submit written comments on the draft Amendment on or before the 6 November 2017 to the Chairperson: CARCom, for the attention of:
PROJECT 24 is an initiative of RAASA to update the Civil Aviation Regulations with a unique set of guidelines and rules as it applies to NTCA.

* Everybody is welcome to make suggestions to the various regulatory amendments and the new proposed regulations.
If you are representing a particular representative body and/or Aviation Recreation Organisation (ARO), kindly ensure you have the approval and mandate to attend the meetings and agree to any decisions made on behalf of that representative body i.e. MISASA, SAGPA, SSSA, EAA, PASA, SAHPA etc.

Please note that in order to ensure a fair and transparent process, only responses received via e-mail will be taken into account and included for discussion at the upcoming meetings.
Ensure that any communications, suggestions, comments or proposal are related to project 24 and included in the track changes, do not use this forum to raise personal issues or gripes as you will be removed from this project.
